Media Framing of Political Corruption
Description: This dataset contains online news articles about political corruption published between 2018 and 2024 in four European countries: Bulgaria, Italy, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. The articles were retrieved through the News API platform using country-specific keyword queries related to political corruption, developed with input from native speakers and adapted to each national context. The final manually coded dataset consists of 1,000 articles, with 250 articles per country. Each article was coded for the presence or absence of seven political corruption frames: Systemic Corruption, Failed Accountability, Individual Wrongdoing, Instrumentalization, Foreign Influence, Politicized Investigation, and Push for Reform.
