Are you a researcher or a practitioner interested in corruption? The call for papers is now open for the 29th IPSA World Congress of Political Science, which will take place at Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome on 24–28 July 2027.

RESPOND and BRIDGEGAP have joined forces to invite contributions to two panels examining corruption, influence, media and anti-corruption governance.

Fernanda Odilla (University of Bologna), member of RESPOND, is chairing together with Roberto Mincigrucci and Ritta Marchetti (University of Perugia), from BRIDGEGAP,  the panel Power and Influence amid Digital Transformation: Exploring Links between Corruption and Media. The panel welcomes papers exploring how digital transformation is reshaping the relationships between media, power, influence and political corruption.

RESPOND partner Luís de Sousa, from ICS-Lisbon, is chairing the panel Anti-Corruption as Symbolic Governance: Rethinking Evidence, Effectiveness and Political Action. This panel invites critical reflections on the evidence underpinning anti-corruption policies, their effectiveness and the political and symbolic dimensions of anti-corruption action.

Paper proposals must be submitted through the IPSA 2027 website by 4 November 2026.

Submission requirements:

• The paper title must not exceed 25 words.
• The abstract must clearly state the research question and briefly describe the methodological approach.
• The abstract must not exceed 350 words.
• References, bibliographical notes and authors’ contact information should not be included in the abstract.
• The abstract must be written in the language selected during submission and carefully proofread.
